Shoreham College plant an orchard to symbolise hope and growth for the future on the National Day of Reflection.
Principal Mrs Bakhtiari and Head of Juniors Mrs Stokes were joined by pupils in the Junior School to reflect upon the past year in a newly planted orchard within the grounds of Shoreham College.
The orchard was completed yesterday when Groundsman Nick Milner planted the final 8 trees that arrived from the Team Tree Council as part of their Orchards for Schools programme, and today has been dedicated to everyone we have lost and has been affected by Covid19.
Mrs Bakhtiari spoke about the significance of the day, “Whilst reflecting on the grief of the past year we hope for a brighter future and planting these trees, watching them grow, bloom and bear fruit will symbolise new beginnings and of hope for better times to come.”
